Building kits for the models of Gravestein and Geldershoofd in Bijlmermeer, Amsterdam. This complex of two high-rise apartment buildings has a unique history that reflects the evolution of urban planning of the second half of the 20th century. Purchasing this kit is the most direct way to support Hoog YouTube channel.

Bijlmermeer was built in 1960s and 70s. Envisioned as a middle class modernist utopia, it quickly became a crime-ridden ghetto plagued by social and economic issues. Its iconic honeycomb high-rises became symbols of urban decay and the dangers of top-down central planning. Starting in the 1990s, extensive renewal efforts were able to transform the area with mixed-use developments and improved infrastructure. Bijlmermeer with its unique history now reflects valuable lessons learned from past urban planning experiments. Read more about the history of Gravestein and Gelderhoofd.
